OK, next was Iri telling me that I would have to come up with a script for a Merdeka drama. That time I wasn't seriously contemplating doing it because producing a script isn't all that easy. But since it's Iri, I couldn't say no. So, I came up with something and I already had people in mind for the roles. Obviously lah, ryte? I knew that Deb, Nicole and Michy would be the mains. Me and Iri would take multiple roles. Just like for the school drama. Hehe.
Alryte, so I wrote the script for the drama which I then later named Nilai Kemerdekaan. The drama revolved around Sam Ling, a girl whose dad died in battle and she was then single-handedly raised by her mum and instilled with a strong sense of patriotism. Buthen she leaves for some foreign country and returns changed. Then she gets transported to the past (I dunno how she gets transported, but it was easier to make it this way rather than Iri's ghost of Tunku Abdul Rahman thing XD). She witnesses the cruelty of the Japanese soldiers and watches her father die. Then she gets transported back to the present and she's all patriotic again lah. Lol.
Nicole plays Sam Ling and Michy is her mum and Deb juggles two roles as her dad and a Malay citizen in the past; I play an Indian friend and a Japanese soldier in separate scenes each and Iri plays a Malay friend, a citizen and a Japanese soldier in separate scenes. And one last addition to our cast was Melody! Haha. She just came around awhile, and me and Iri were experimenting with ideas for the killing scene. We tried to choreograph a fight scene with two soldiers and Deb as the dad. But we decided that it would be better to have a comrade with Deb's role. Without a doubt, Melody would be that friend. Haha. Another experienced drama member really helped cause we didn't have to explain much and Melody also just improvised on her own. Hehe. The killing scene turned out to be a funny one cause the audience was laughing. Haha.
The beginning scene of Sam Ling, Khatijah (Iri) and Devi (me) in primary school actually worked too. We were s'posed to be 7 and we wore prefect uniforms and sat on our knees. Haha. We took so long to decide on wearing primary baju kurung, primary pinafore or prefect uniforms. In the end, the last option was the most convenient. Iri looked absolutely ridiculous with her coconut hairstyle! Hahaha. Seriously, Deb really messed me and Iri's hair up lah. Lol.
The Japanese soldier scene was good too. After my scene as Devi, me, I-Vie, Pei Z, Hema and Ameyrah ran like mad to the corridors. I even forgot to put some eye shadow, mascara or whatever, it's a make-up thing lah (Bev knows I'll never get make-up terms ryte XD). Pei Z did her general role well and the whole thing was messy, just like it was s'posed to be. Hehe.
All in all, the drama went really well. We were all so worried about how the response would be and whether or not everything would go in sync. But after putting in two weeks of hard work and effort, everything was perfect. =) Props were on time, scenes were flowing and the audience understood what was happening. Once again, Deb, Nicole and Michy portrayed their roles to a T. All the soldiers and the citizens were great and the sound effects were perfect, thanks to Melia.
As for me, it was a very hectic day. Ryte after performing with my class, I had to run to the bengkel and strip (not literally, haha) to get into costume for the drama. Especially for me and Iri, we had three costume changes and Nicole had more than that and Michy had to make herself look preggy. Haha.
After all that, I got changed back into baju kurung and took some pics. Then I spent some time with Bev walking around school. Then I headed back upstairs to class and did absolutely nothing. Lol. Below are two videos. The first is of my class performance and the second is of the drama. Sorry the drama video is not complete cause my darn camera has very little space.

Just for memories, here are several pics from some of our drama practices. Man, how much I miss drama practice T_T
I've saved the best for last... Look at Michy! Hahaha!
Although it was all a lot of hard work, both for the performance and the drama, I'm glad I got involved in what I got involved in. Lol. The experience was invaluable and the memories created will be forever cherished. After all, when you get older, memories are all you'll have =] So why not make those memories sweet? Haha. Signing out...
