Hari Kad KECEMERLANGAN!

There're different perceptions for "REPORT CARD DAY" which is either viewed as a dreaded day or an opportunity to have fun, mainly because you flunked or you excelled. In my case, there was nothing to worry about cause my grades were passable. And coupled with a few forbidden stuff, I view "REPORT CARD DAY" as the latter =D

Anyway, 2H was watched over by Pn. Fauziah, so me and Yan Teng had to watch where we kept our mp3 players. Hehe. But when she went out, we took the chance to take some pics! Here, got 2 before the teacher returned:

Quick, snap!
Where's the tie, man?
After breaktime, we returned to class and I was to man the table outside where my peranan was as such:
a) welcome the parents
b) get them to sign that slip of paper on that table
c) show them in
d) tell them to sit if there're a few of 'em waiting outside
But lucky me, my friends love me so much that they didn't want me to do all that hard work by myself, LOL! And the outcome? Look below:

Appears I didn't have to do my work full time, cause not only the both of them manned the table, so did Lavenya. Haha... friends really are useful sometimes, ey?

OK, now about the parents. There was quite a variety: a mum who bothered about us talking on the mobile with her there, a mum who didn't like having to sign, and a suspected to be vaguely flirting dad
. I have to tell you about that last one! He's the father of L** L* Ch***. I'd rather keep her identity partially secret. Hehe. Anyway, I was at the table and this man came up.

Me: Sir, pls write your name here and your daughter's name here.
Dad: I don't know how to write wor.
Me: Err... Sir, pls write your name here and your daughter's name here... then sign.
Dad: I really don't know how to write. You write for me lah. [Winks at Lin Kee while Lavenya goes "Gasp... !"]
Me: Um... O-K, what's your name?
Dad: L** Ah S***.
Me: All right.
Dad: Your handwriting nice oh.
Me: [Laughs slightly]
Dad: [About to enter class, stops then turns to look at me] What's your name ah? [Eyes my name tag]
Me: Uh, Amanda.
[After he enters the class]
Lin Kee: OMG, what's wrong with him?
Lavenya: He winked at Lin Kee!
Me: HAHAHAHA!!!

While doing our work, we were visited by a few ppl.
#1, Mr. Choo:

#2, Robyn & Wee (who took the pic):
#3, Melia:
OK, now about "REPORT CARD DAY". Aunty Lay Leng acted as my aunt because my mum couldn't make it. So, all Pn. Pari said was "She's the class president, my right-hand, without her I'd be quite helpless... efficient, responsible... Her grades are fine, but it'd be nice to see all As... " I'm sure many of you know already anyway. Haha.

When most of the parents were already there, me and my friends just messed around the table cause it seemed there would be no more customers. Hehe. And at that moment I felt my mobile vibrate in my pocket... *gasp*... Who could it be? There, flashing on the screen was Gerard. LOL!

Gerard: Amanda, I'm looking at you now.
Me: Huh? What? Where?
Gerard: I'm in front of my sister's class.
Me: Eh? Um... oh yeah! Haha. HI! (Waves)
Gerard: (Waves back)
Me: What're you doing here?
Gerard: Taking report card for my sister.
Me: I see. Man, this is so weird. We're looking at each other and talking.
Gerard: Haha, yeah. [Anita nudges me and Lavenya looks at me with slitted eyes] I can see your friends are disturbing you.
Me: Haha, yeah.
Gerard: OK then. I'll leave you to do your things. Bye! =)
Me: Hehe, all right. Bye-bye.

LOL! That's how it was.

Then before I left, I took this pic with Catherine:

All my friends were still there when I left, so T_T I kind of missed out a bit. But I called them thru Anita's mobile phone (good thing you brought!) and talked and talked. I tried to listen in on Lavenya's session with Pn. Pari, but Lavenya was like, "We're speaking in Tamil-lah, mangkuk!" She's been saying that a lot lately... haha, but nvm. So, that was all, and here, Cuz, is my 3rd post since you were asking for the 3rd one in the tagboard =)

*Shining As Stars*

4-7 June. The youth of KGH spent these four days in the Gracehill Orchard Lodge, Bkt. Tinggi. And I was one of 'em!

DAY 1

OK, when we first arrived, there was the normal stuff. Ya know, briefing and welcoming. My group is Honey Stars, which consists of: Nadia (leader), Han, Jerry, Marcus, Nyuet Fen, Gerard & me. In the beginning it looked pretty dysfunctional to me but ya know what, we turned out to be the most happenin' group, according to the speaker, Oon Eu Jin from Kepong Gospel Hall.

Anyway, we started with this game aka flour warfare. The outcome was as the photo below shows:
Not a very nice sight

So after games we had to wait for the food, which arrived late that night. But we didn't complain. Heck, it didn't really bother me. When at last the food came, it was really delicious. Like, seriously! A plus point to the camp.

DAY 2

Normal beginnings. Talks and stuff. After that, lunch and all. During free time they were playing captainball, and since I'm not an avid fan I headed up to our girls' dorm (there're 2, mine houses Kym, Alyssa, Mei Er, Amelia, Nadia, Ee May, Vivien and me). There I found Ee May, practising her violin. You see her exam's coming up and she's not what you'd call 'super-prepared'. Haha. Well, for the next day's free time period too, she practised her violin.

I've got proof too. Ee May practised a lot until even the tune was stuck in my head. And it wasn't a happy song... it was like composed when the composer was depressed or something. Out of the three, the so called happiest one doesn't sound all that happy either. Haha.

That night, after all the talks I took some photos at the platform. This is one of them:

And after that, me, KK, Ee May, Gerard & Wei Shern (who were the few ppl I hanged out with the most during the camp) went up to the gate that led down to the lodge at night, where it was dark and misty (harhar... cool) to take some photos. Here's the 4 of us, with Gerard taking the photo:
DAY 3

We have a really long free period because we were supposed to use it to figure out something for the night's performance. Did some thinking but then we all kind of got tired of thinking. Adrian already gave a pesanan to change into our camp T-shirt for the day's photo-taking session. The 6 of us already started snapping photos before the official one began =D

It was games time again! This time we were playing "Romanopoly". It'll be difficult to explain so I won't even try to do it. Anyway, here's us caught in the action:
Oh yeah, and I bought Gerard from the slave market. And I did the next best thing: give him money to redeem himself! Aih... I don't even know why I did that. Look at him, showing off his 'REDEEMED' sign, and there goes my 10 pennies. LOL...

DAY 4

We walked to the waterfalls hidden deep inside somewhere near the place where we stayed. Haha. And this is how the majestic water-falling-over-rocks thing looks like:Nice, ain't it? But the one thing that we must always do before doing anything when you're in camp is... *drumroll* take photos!

KK & Gerard on a rock

And after following the speaker Eu Jin all the way from the lodge and gathering the guts to ask him for a photo, me and Wei Shern at last got our photo. This is all due to the courage of - ahem, KK - not us =] Anyway, since the speaker's photo is here, let's elaborate on him. He's really a great speaker! Interesting, engaging, and right-to-the-point (as Nadia always says). Me, Wei Shern and Adrian were the last to leave because - well, I don't know the real cause. But when we trudged uphill we found CCC... on this rock:
BUT, lucky us! He was waiting for the last ppl so that we could take a shortcut that allows us to skip all the uphill walking. Yay! In the photo below, can you see that flight of stone steps? Well, that's the shortcut we used. It was a little steep going up, because the steps turned 45 degrees. But I made it! Hahaha.
When we returned, after a good shower, and a whole lot of screaming with Mei Er and Ee May, we packed our bags and loaded them into the van. I really miss the lodge, and it really was a great place. This is - or was - my bed, the one below (if you can recognize my sling bag, and can you see Ee May's pink iPod Mini? Hehe) because Mei Er wanted my place and I ended up sleeping on the opposite bed which in turn caused me to suffer bedbug bites. AHHH!!!
And the view when we opened the dorm door from the balcony is:
OK, wrong one, LOL. This is the nice view:
Haha. All in all, it was an enriching experience that nudged me to start doing my quiet time in a devoted manner. So now you know how I was before this =P

The ride back I was sitting with Wei Shern and Ee May and KK were just beside us. (See, I really hung out with these few ppl the most during this camp.) Wei Shern was trying to capture Ee May sleeping but instead she posed for the camera. Haha!

And all I did was use the mobile while Wei Shern listened to my iPod Mini and stared out the window... dunno what was on his mind. Maybe how much he - or rather, we - are already missing camp, T_T

Happy Birthday... to Me!

OK... I know I sound really perasan with my title, but heck with it! =D It was my birthday today - and still is =D - so let me tell you what I did. First my dad brought me out for breakfast. I had good ol' kon lo mee. Hehehe. Then I went for music replacement class and my teacher is so nice! She gave me a present: a Mars bar. Hahaha.

I went to Sunway Pyramid after that cause Aunty Alice invited us for an ice skate date. Too bad I didn't ice skate because Mervy and Wei Shern didn't want to. So the three of us went shopping. And let me tell you, this is the first time I've felt so exhausted just shopping. Mervy definitely has a terrible sense of direction. Instead of taking a more obvious, visible, shorter route, we made an entire round. We went to the arcade, to the toyshop (everybody go "What?") and Mervy messed with the electric keyboard.

And we kept on returning to Body Glove, Radioactive and Giordano until even the salespeople recognized us (and even Giordano's salesgirl stopped saying "Welcome"... LOL) Look, Mervy, made me and Wei Shern hated by the salespeople. But I had lots of fun. I chose clothes for Wei Shern and Mervy. Oh yeah, btw, Mervy, you look splendid in M! Despite it being transparent (as noted by Wei Shern =P) So I didn't buy anything. But we ate at KimGary's after buying clothes for Wei Shern. We had Milo Milk Ice Blended, Coconut & Peanut Thick Toast and Lemon Aloe Vera.

Mum and Sis gave me birthday ang pau: RM60. A lot for the first time. Hehe. And my younger bro, Jo bought me a small book abt sisters from MPH and he gave me RM30(for reload card, he says). How sweet is that! Thanks Jesus for such a wonderful family.

When we were going home I was so tired! But I'm really happy cause so many people wished me. It's so nice to be remembered. I'm sure everyone feels that way. Haha. Now I'm sitting here typing this post and feeling oh so tired (mainly because of Mervy). OK then, that is all.

P.S. Will be posting about the camp after I upload the pics. Hang around, folks!
