Another year has come to an end. The last time I looked back on the year that past was in 2006. 2008 holds a lot of meaning for me, so I've decided to sift through my memories of this past year, and just enjoy reminiscing of everything and everyone that made my 2008 an awesome and amazing year =)

This year was a year of many firsts for me. I did a lot of things for the first time. And I experienced a lot in those 365 days. I tried new things and in the process, I discovered myself. Many things I didn't know I was capable of doing (let alone envisage that I would), I did. I met new friends, I lost some friends. There was a lot of good and bad, but as a whole, I can say that 2008 was filled with more good things than bad.

For many people, the end of another year is the time to look back on all we have achieved. But honestly, what made the year meaningful was not much the successes we attained, but rather it is more the people we have met, the people that's made a lasting impression on us.

My friends mean the world to me. Hehe. As much as I hate to admit it, I need my friends. Haha. So here are the few that rocked my 2008 =D

Thank you all for giving me a wonderful year! As 2009 begins, I can't help but feel reluctant to let go of 2008. I wonder what the coming year holds for me - and for you too, of course. Haha. I guess only time will tell. So, I begin my fifth year in blogosphere. And my question to you is, won't you join me for the ride? ;)

Imagine this...

It's past midnight, close to 1am. You're in the rooftop parking bay of a shopping mall. Wait, correction: You're in the deserted rooftop parking bay of a closed shopping mall. Every elevator in the mall is not operating at this time of night apart from one. Unfortunately, this elevator lets you out at the other end of the parking bay. You've got a long way to walk to where your car is. Your steps are fast and big as your eyes dart from left to right.

As you pay for your ticket at the automated parking ticket counter, the voice coming out of the counter echoes around the huge empty space, simultaneously amplifying it. You walk away hastily, but can't help turning back to look at what is causing the automatic doors to slide open and close. You quicken your steps as you realize that there is nothing there - nothing that the door sensors would pick up.

In the distance, you can see your car, but that part of the parking bay seems to have bad lighting compared to the rest of the parking bay. You can only see the outline of your car from where you are. As you walk closer, it becomes clearer and you hurry towards your car, a feeling of paranoia mixed with fear creeping up on you. You quickly press the button to unlock your car, and can't help but notice how the sound of your car unlocking reverberates around the deserted parking bay. You get in and lock the doors right away, and heave a sigh of relief as you feel safe again.

Freaky? Yep. That's what happened to me y'day night (or this morning, whichever works). But it wasn't so bad b'cos Michael was there. Haha. So anyway, we watched "Twilight" y'day. The screening time was 10.45pm, so it ended about 12.45pm. It was my second time watching it. Lol. At least now most of the question marks that I was left with the first time I watched it is now answered. =)

How are your holidays coming along? Mine pretty much sucks. I drag myself through every single day. All I do is wake up late so that I will sleep off most of the beginning of the day, that way I only have to get myself through half a day (I should take sleeping pills then I would sleep longer). Then I have devotion, and I read the newspapers, then I eat. After that, I will either read, watch a movie or watch TV shows on the PC. I am pathetic. Oh man... Somebody save me.

My days are so empty that I kind of feel guilty for not starting tuition classes. It's funny how any Form 5 would kill to be in my place right now, and yet I'm wishing that I'm not where I am. I should work. But I'll probably get fired soon enough cause I've got some distractions on my mind. I wanna study, but the first chapter of History Form 5 was pretty boring that it kind of put me off. Maybe I'll give it another try. Oh, and I have yet to finish up Chemistry Form 4. I shouldn't have to worry about that IF I was going for tuition this month. But I'm not. Sigh.

The few things that I can look forward to this week is tmrw night's rally mttg, Thursday night's choir practice and Saturday's lunch. Other than that, nothing else exciting. Whoever's reading this, I'll bet your holidays are way more fun than mine. =]

Happy Anniversary!

HAPPY 30TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY,

I love you guys!

4 Dedikasi Class Party!

I was super excited about 4D's class party. And with good reason too. B'cos we Dedikasi-ans, being the unconventional peeps that we are, decided to have our class party at Botanic Park, picnic-style. This idea was pitched by Jessica and Yoke Pei. Although it was a sunny day despite weather forecasts of isolated thunderstorms over Selangor, the weather turned out in our favour.

OK, so I was s'posed to meet Jessica, Lynnette and Yoke Pei at Domino's Tesco, but I didn't have to, so plans changed and I arrived at Botanic Park at exactly 4pm. When I reached, only Jessica, Nette, Yoke Pei, Joanna, Su-Ching, Siah Eer, Angelina and Shankry were there. So we waited for others to come, then when Khairiyah, Ajeerah and all arrived, we upped and moved to another place b'cos there were a bunch of guys where we were and there wasn't a lot of space also lah. Place number two was filled with red ants, and all of us were screaming and grabbing stuff that we put on the ground. Haha. So then we had to move to the playground. I carried the super heavy cooler filled with super heavy packs of ice. Hwa liau eh. Lol. I had to carry it over the bridge. Wow. For someone like me, it's a huge achievement, you know. Haha.

B'cos it was still hot, we decided to start eating. There was a lot of food. We had four pizzas, kek batik (a specialty of Khaleeqa's, it is actually finger biscuits coated with yummy chocolate milo), potato salad with sausage (Ching's signature), salsa with chachos and cream cheese tarts (both made by Ching). There was all kinds of carbonated drinks too. Lynnette was going mad, screaming at the many flies. The presence of flies was inevitable lah. She was so loud, you know. While I'm enjoying my food, I suddenly hear shouts of, "Lalat! Lalat!" beside me. Haha. How to makan in peace? Hehe.

Tired nyer~
Ah... Windy...
Haha... It doesn't work lah...

Yum!

After all that eating, what's the next best thing to do? You don't even have to pause and think, it's time to be snap-happy! Haha. We took so many pics all around the playground. It was so much fun. Lol. Feast your eyes!

Nette can only do funny faces, haha

Yoke Pei tryna look sporty too, haha

When we were done with picture-taking, we had to clean up the place before leaving the playground. I didn't clean up, BUT I took pics of people cleaning up. Hahaha. Then me and Yoke Pei had to carry the cooler. But we changed hands halfway, and made Jessica and Nette carry the cooler up the bridge. Haha.

Aiyoh, so heavy...!

Hehe...

For a game of captainball, we returned to place number two which I mentioned earlier in my post. It's actually this huge space of grass and it's shady so it wasn't too hot. But weather was nice by then. So we played a round of captainball. My teammates were Jessica, Amalina, Khaleeqa and Seen Sze. My opponents were Lynnette, Chiang, Joanna, Khairiyah and Shi Yunn. Sad to say, we lost 5-4. Haha. We only played awhile b'cos we had just eaten and the rest who weren't playing (Yoke Pei, Ajeerah, etc.) didn't have anything to do. Lynnette was like, "Aiyoh, appendix, appendix." Hahaha. And I was tired, man. Can't even run. Really no stamina. Lol. There was one instance when the ball almost fell into the lake, but I outran the ball. Hahaha.

Extreme opposites, haha
Nette's uber cool Nikes

Then we played three rounds of Charades (me and Jessica were the game masters). After that, we just took more pics loh. Haha. We were like tourists, man! But really, it makes me think. When you're with friends on an outing such as this, or even a dinner like the Deepavalli one at Aranee's place, it's hard to not just take pics the whole time. Haha. The camera's just so tempting, innit? Lol.

Everyone left at about 6.30pm. So only me, Jessica, Nette, Yoke Pei and Tammy were left. Since we still had time, cause we'd only be leaving at 7pm, I think I had this crazy idea to make videos of us singing and dancing (some really crappy, impromptu dance moves, haha. So enjoy watching our ridiculous videos!

Shake It - Metro Station

Forever - Chris Brown

And at last, I got a video of Yoke Pei impersonating Jaclyn Victor for the song, "Gemilang". I've been wanting to get this recorded for as long as I can remember. And now I have! Haha. Yoke Pei forgot the lyrics midway, so it's just a really short video. Lol.
