Deepavalli Dinner at Aranee's Place =D

On Saturday night, I was at Aranee's place for a Deepavalli dinner. Jessica came and picked me at about 7.30pm and I directed them to Aranee's house. I never knew that Aranee stayed so nearby. So me, Jessica, Lynnette and Yoke Pei were the first to arrive. After awhile, Jesse, Ciuyi and Shobita arrived. Cause there weren't enough guests yet, we couldn't start eating, so we headed upstairs to Aranee's room. The one thing that caught my attention immediately when I entered her room was this adorable pic of her below. Haha. Damn cute, right?
So we just hung around in her room for awhile, waiting for makan time. Lynnette and Yoke Pei were so energy-less (most probably b'cos they haven't eaten, lol). Then we went downstairs and started eating. There were about 7 dishes: rice, chicken, mutton, kurma gravy, fish cutlets, vegetable acar... Food was really yummy. And so was dessert after that. We had some very delicious chocolate cake (I think we took all the sides, haha) and pineapple (which I thought was sweet corn at first) jelly.

"Food... I need food..."
"Yoh, why not yet dinnertime wan?"
Nette was the first to start eating, haha

Look at her digging in! XD
"OK, I'm satisfied now =]"

After makan-ing, we headed upstairs to Aranee's room and started playing Monopoly. It was either that or Scrabble cards, so obviously Monopoly was the better choice. Tried to take individual pics of these two below, but they didn't want to, so you see what became of their pics. Haha. Although Lynnette's one is actually quite cool lah. Lol.

Alright, I have a lot to say about this kid. This girl is Aranee's neighbour, and she came up to Aranee's room while we were playing Monopoly. My first impression of her was she's a cute and sweet-looking girl. So you know, I never get to be around kids very much so I was already thinking of how to treat her nicely so she'll like me. Haha. I asked her her name and she said it was Sarahnita (I hope I got the spelling right), then I asked her to help me arrange money (cause I was the banker). It was going well, you know, she seemed to be enjoying herself. I talked to her nicely and told her stuff like, "If you become a banker, you'll get to manage money a lot, but the money won't belong to you." (I know, it shows how terribly inexperienced I am around kids, I talk to them like they're adults, haha.) Then you know what she said to me? "You're so beautiful." Hahaha. I think I said thanks or something. I was like, damn happy lah. Lol.

Then we stopped playing Monopoly, and she was having a lot of fun arranging back all the money. So then I took a pic with her, and then she wanted to use the camera. How do you say no to a kid? I had no experience with that either. I let her use my camera, and she took some pics lah. After that, the whole night, she was so attached to me. I got kind of scared, cause I didn't know what to do with a kid who's attached to you. Usually, you should be happy, right? But cause it seldom happens to me, I didn't know how to react. Haha. When Aranee asked her which of us (me, Jessica, Nette, Yoke Pei), she said me. Then she came and sat beside me, and I didn't know how to say "go away" in a nice way, and she hugged me, and kissed my arm (b'cos I had this look that told her, "Stay away from my face") and she called me "Mummy". Scary, right? Haha. No thanks to the other three for trying to coax her into kissing me. I asked Aranee to bring her down, but she said she wouldn't go down unless I went down. So I went down, then when I got a chance, I sprinted up the stairs and came bursting into the room, and the other three started laughing. I collapsed onto the bed, feeling so relieved. Haha. Then Jessica told me that you can't lock the door! Lol.

Me and the kid who loved me... Haha!

Sarahnita took this (quite steady, right?)
They look alike, but they're not related, lol
Uh... What d'you do when a kid hugs you?
OK lah, I'm not that mean, haha

The rest of the night was spent taking pics. Haha. What else can you do lah, right? From the whole snap-happy session that night, I've discovered that Jessica and Yoke Pei are very, very, very, and I say again, very fussy over their pics. Something about angles and lighting. Haha. Me and Nette don't really care. If it looks fine, then it's fine. We won't study the details. Jessica and Yoke Pei can take the same pic a dozen times over and it looks exactly the same to me and Nette but to them it's, "No, take again." Haha.

"You must consider the lighting..."
"And the angle too... Sigh... We're running out of time..."
"Please, please get it right this time, OK?"
"Alright, good enough... =)"

Sweaty palms!

These next few pics are just me and Nette playing around, haha.

Love ya!

Right before we left, we remembered that we hadn't taken any pics with our hostess, Aranee. Haha. We're so terrible lah. So we took our final pics with her, then we headed home. Sarahnita didn't look too happy with me. She didn't wanna say bye. Aih. I mess up with kids lah. Lol. Overall, I had a really great time! Hehe.

My Nephews

Four years ago, I met my nephews. I didn't know I had nephews, until they appeared in my home. Haha. They're the sons of my cousin. And the best part is: Thomas is a year older than me and Mark is a year younger than Jo. So two days ago, I met them again b'cos they came down to visit Grandma. Mark looked SO SO SO different! He's like, super thin and could easily be 6 feet tall. Oh my goodness... In four years only, he's changed so much. Haha. Thom is still the same, although he's grown taller (now he's 5'10"). Haha. But one thing that hasn't changed is they're still very obedient to their aunty XD

Ah! I'm Deaf!

You know I said that my days are so boring and I need some drama? That's exactly what I got. Well, not exactly, but kind of. Haha. OK, so y'day I had Interact meeting after school. And so I had to stay back. Meeting was at 1.45pm, so I had 10 minutes for lunch. Me, Yoke Pei and Jesse walked to KD. On the way there, we heard a loud sound, like a gunshot. Jesse shouted, Yoke Pei screamed (like really high pitch, lol) and I winced and closed my ears. Hahaha. It sounded like it came from somewhere else, so we looked around, then Yoke Pei saw smoke from the drain where we were passing by a moment ago. Whatever it was (we found out later that it was a firecracker), it exploded right beside us, or specifically, right beside ME. I lost my hearing for like, 5 minutes. Haha. I was like, "Yoke Pei, I can't hear. Oh my goodness, I can't hear. I can't hear! My right ear... I can't hear anything!" Lol. Then Yoke Pei spoke into my right ear, and it was all OK again. Hehe.

While we had lunch (roti Milo =D), we were joking that someone was making an attempt on our lives, and that they must've been watching b'cos the firecracker exploded right when we were walking by. Like, what a coincidence, right? Haha. So after lunch, we went to investigate lah. We looked into the drain and we found the firecracker. Then we took pics of it with Yoke Pei's mobile cam. Hehe.

It was so cool lah. Apart from freaking out when I couldn't hear, it was cool lah. Haha.

The firecracker in the drain (see our reflections? =])

It's called Thunder Tomahawk, haha

Me and the firecracker that rendered me deaf for all of 5 minutes XD

So Pn. Nermala said that she didn't lose our papers. As a matter of fact, she didn't even get them. I guess that's possible lah. But still, there're still some little details that's suspicious. Haha. I'll just give her the benefit of the doubt. Ah. Oh, and she said that the teachers in the staffroom were pretty surprised that all 4 Dedikasi-ans turned up for the exam y'day. You see, the teachers have a really bad impression of us. They see us in a very negative light. We can't really blame them, cause we're not a teacher's dream class. But still, we've always been a really nice bunch in our own way. You just gotta wait and get to know us more then you'll realize that we're actually not so bad. Haha.

Anyway, I got back 5 papers today. The results were satisfactory =) Indeed, all praise goes back to God. Hehe. Played Pictionary the whole day. I'm actually quite adept at drawing with my left hand. In fact, I daresay that I draw better with my left hand. Haha. Nette is quite a nice teammate. Although both of us are so sucky at drawing and we can never roll the die and get more than 2 (haha!), when we get it right, we go on a roll cause we hold the turn for like, four drawings. Lol. I can't wait for Taboo tomorrow, if there is Taboo tomorrow. XD

We also had our last CU meeting today. It went well. Me and Lydidi had to act out Titanic. I vividly remember acting out the exact same scene with Melody a few months back. Haha. And during games time, they gave out some really cool, chewy chocolate candy. Yum. Lol.

And I just came back from pasar malam. I'm actually s'posed to be at Add Maths tuition. But I stopped, and I'll return next year. James Tan called me just now, and he was like, "James Tan here." And seriously, this is so embarrasing, but I can't believe I said, "Hi, uncle." Hahaha. Like, I just blurted it out without thinking. Sigh. I'm such a dong lah. Moving on... So he was talking about why I wanna stop and telling me that if I stop two months, I've got to pay registration next year. And he was saying that there'll be more people coming in so I have to be prepared to change classes. And he told me that he'll wait for me to make up my mind. I think my mind's made up already.

OK, so like I said, I just came back from pasar malam. Before that, I went to KFC with Mum and Gavin. Mum wanted to try the Hot Rods cause she saw the advertisement in the papers. Hahaha. It's really nothing special. Don't bother trying it. It's just a skewered, hot and spicy version of their original chicken and it looks nothing like how it looks like in the papers. How disappointing. But I did get to have my fave chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. Hehe.

Guess that's about all I did today. My days are so boring. I need some drama.

Monday, 3 November 2008

I know I haven't been updating a lot. I never usually do anyway. I guess I always think that I have nothing worth blogging about. But being a blogger means that you turn daily activities into something blog-worthy. Right? It means you change something boring and mundane into something which sounds so much better than it actually is - I think. I dunno.

So, anyway, I sat for my English 1 paper again. Apparently there was a technical error with my class, 4D's essays (and we all know that basically translates to "papers missing"). After making a lot of fuss about it and trying my best to get out of class, I couldn't do much. It sucks, doesn't it? No matter how much you protest or anything, being a student, you can only do so much. And in the end, you have to give in to authority. Oh well... However, a plus point is that I didn't do so well for my previous English 1, so sitting for this paper again gave me a chance to redeem myself. And I'm glad to say that I do feel better about this one. And I wrote 728 words! Haha.

After the paper, I played the Game of Life with my 4D gang. It was really fun. I was a teacher but I got into a mid-life crisis and I changed careers and became a superstar. Haha. Weird. I think I lost some LIFE cards. Sigh. I'm looking forward to tomorrow, cause there'll be Taboo and the last CU meeting of 2008.

One other thing that made me happy today was Nicole gave me her word search book, which was half-completed. It was nice to do it because it had this old, used feeling, if you know what I mean. Oh, and Bev got me another word search book and a new shiny blue highlighter. Haha. I'm really going word search crazy.

Now I'm just sitting in front of the monitor, listening to Snow Patrol's latest and waiting for Tropic Thunder to finish d/l-ing. I need to buy a PC game lah. I'm stuck on several missions in GTA Vice City which I can't complete. Aih.

It's been about 3 months already. I guess it's better like this. I can't help but wonder if I'm making a mistake. But maybe in the long run it's best, not only just for me. Will I regret this when I get older? They say relationships are always worth restoring. But some should just be left to past. If things were back to normal, it's not gonna be good. That's just what I tell myself.

Whenever I write a post without a specific theme, I just write out anything on my mind. It's a bit confusing. When I reread it again, I actually need to stop and think about what I was talking about. D'you get me? Haha. Forget it.
